Terms of use
The service
noteroll is a private, chat-style note-taking app. You sign in with Google, write notes in rooms, and can attach images and links.
Your account and content
- You are responsible for what you store and for keeping your Google account secure.
- Your notes stay yours. noteroll only stores them so the app can show them back to you.
- Do not use noteroll to store or share anything unlawful, and do not try to disrupt or abuse the service.
Storage limits
Free accounts have a storage allowance for images. Limits can change, and the app shows your current usage in Settings.
Availability
noteroll is provided as is, without warranties. It may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Keep a copy of anything important: you can export your data from Settings at any time.
Ending your use
You can delete your account in Settings whenever you like.
Privacy policy
What we store
- Your Google account name, email address and profile picture, used to sign you in.
- The notes, rooms, images and preferences you create in the app.
This data is kept with Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore and Storage). Access rules restrict your data to your own signed-in account.
Link previews
When you save a note containing a link, noteroll's server fetches that page once to get its title and image for the preview. Only the link is sent.
Ask AI (optional)
If you turn it on, you provide your own API key for Gemini, Anthropic or OpenAI. The key stays in your browser and is removed when you sign out. Questions and the notes relevant to them are sent directly from your browser to the provider you chose, only when you ask. They do not pass through noteroll's servers, and images are never sent.
On your device
noteroll keeps a local copy of your recent notes so it works offline, plus a few preferences such as your theme. Deleting your account clears them.
No tracking
noteroll does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Deleting your data
Settings lets you export your notes and delete your account. Deleting removes your notes, rooms, images, profile and sign-in.
